Suitable for a child from 0-6 months and more

The cradle position is very practical for breastfeeding. In this position, the baby is on his back with his legs together. If your child suffers from hip deformities, consult your doctor before trying this position. In such a case, it is not recommended to have the child’s legs together.  Read the recommendations carefully on the cradle position.

Here are the basic steps in understanding how to knot the cross wrap on your tummy (Cradle position):

,
Just redo the techniques illustrated before to form a small pocket to put baby in.

You would place baby in the position that you would naturally use as needed. The closer baby is to you with tummy to tummy, the more the wearer will find that baby is lighter and more comfortable to wear.

After placing baby in the pocket, adjust the wrap fold by fold so as the head is well supported.

Using the wrap like a cord and pulling it over each shoulder can achieve adjustment of the tension.

If extra support is needed, just pass the wrap under babies’ head.

It is also very practical to completely cover the babies’ head by opening up the wrap over the width of baby. One can have a little intimacy if baby is busy drinking. As per the position tummy to tummy, cross the wrap in front by passing under babies’ bottom and bring the two sides around to the back.

You can then decide if you want to knot in the back or if you have sufficient length, bring the material around to the front and knot it solidly.

It is possible after to spread the weight over your shoulders by tucking once again the ribbing material from your neck outwards.

To change the way baby is facing, one must redo the knot by redoing the first position on this page.
